Remotization of a Remote Publisher

We want to scale VideoRoom. So, we explored the option of Cascading publishers across VideoRoom instances. But, we found that remotization of a remote publisher is currently not allowed. For the sake of experimentation, we removed this restriction from the code and found that video and simulcast features are working fine.

  1. Can you please explain the reasons behind blocking this feature?
  2. Are there any areas where remotization of a remote publisher could prove problematic?

I don’t think there was any specific reason (or at least none that I can remember), we just wanted to take it one step at a time. Should you be able to confirm that everything works as expected, we may consider removing that limitation.
