Hi guys. First of all, thanks for your great work, janus is simply amazing! )
We have some issues with broken video on bad connections. I have attached example with vp8 and codec, vp9 video brakes differently, but still. (can’t attach 2 images since I am new here). We detect slowlinks for subscribers in logs for these cases, so I wonder if we can trigger something to fix video, may be force keyframe sending or lower bitrate or something of that nature, when we get slowlinks. Maybe you have some suggestions, what is designed pattern of work with detected slowlinks? Thanks!
That’s what you would normally use simulcast for: you have publishers send multiple video qualities, and subscribers can choose the quality to receive (possibly via the feedback you’re using here).
Thanks Lorenzo, we are using simulcast. Do you suggesting change stream for lower quality if subscriber got slowlinks? Will try, only thing is not clear for me here - for how long, may be it was just some blink in network, and it would be good to higher quality again later. Will try to be creative here, thanks anyway!
